A bromance of bullets and bombs

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin met at a spaceport in Russia's Far East in a summit seen as an effort by Pyongyang and Moscow to cement their ties in the face of economic sanctions and ostracism by the West. Kim, a third-generation ruler whose grandfather was installed by Moscow eight decades ago, vowed to "stand with Russia in our anti-Imperialist united front." An exchange of Russian weapons technology for North Korean conventional ammunition is expected to be a main outcome of the two-hour summit.
