AIDS concern in Asia

The number of AIDS deaths in Asia may have stabilized but there are no indications of a decline in the prevalence of the deadly disease.

The number of people living with the HIV virus that causes AIDS has risen in China, Laos and Vietnam while those in Cambodia and Burma have decreased slightly, according to the latest UNAIDS report.
Asia's epidemics remain concentrated largely among people who inject drugs, sex workers and their clients, and men who have sex with men, the report said.
