유엔은 2차 미북 정상회담 결렬에 대해서 회담 결과에 상관없이 미국과 북한 양국의 노력에 대해 사의를 표했습니다.
유엔 측은 28일 자유아시아방송(RFA)에 안토니우 구테흐스 유엔 사무총장이 하노이 미북 정상회담의 전개상황들을 주시해왔고, 결과에 상관없이 노력을 매우 높이 평가한다고 밝혔습니다. (The Secretary-General has been following the developments in Hanoi and he very much appreciates the effort made, regardless of the results.)
그러면서 유엔 측은 “용감한 외교가 지속가능한 평화와 완벽하고 검증 가능한 한반도 비핵화를 진전시키는 데 필요한 기반을 구축했다”고 밝혔습니다. (Courageous diplomacy has established the foundation needed to advance sustainable peace and the complete and verifiable denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula.).
그러면서 유엔 측은 이러한 논의가 계속되기를 희망한다고 밝혔습니다. (We very much hope that discussions will continue in that direction)
